low, patterson hood, mountain, janis joplin, sting, rolling stones
Southern Shelter has Patterson Hood of Drive By Truckers playing Bruce Springsteen covers.
Earfuzz provides all the orginal songs that are sampled in the Beastie Boys' Shake Your Rump.
Captains Dead has the unofficial Rolling Stones compilation "Lonely At The Top".
Largehearted Boy finds Low live 6-1-07.
Big O has Mountain live 12-31-75 and in my opinion one of the worst things to happen to rock and roll (aside from Don Henley) Sting live June 1993.
In honor of this year's Most Awkward Thanksgiving Moment, here are a couple of unreleased tracks from Janis Joplin. This is how it went down during a discussion of the Rolling Stones "Rock and Roll Circus":
FFIL: Yoko Ono was just always so painful to listen to. ME: Well, although they sound nothing alike, I think Yoko Ono and Janis Joplin both sound like a bag of cats. FFIL: Janis Joplin is probably my favorite female singer of all time. -sound of crickets- ME: Hmmm, I could use another beer (gets up and leaves the room) later that day.... HER: Did you really tell my father that his favorite singer of all time sounded like a bag of cats? ME: Hmmm, I could use another beer (gets up and leaves the room)
In the annuls of my holiday disasters, it doesn't even make the top ten. #1 will always be my grandmother walking in on me peeing when I was 14, then promptly turning around and announcing to the entire house what she just did.
